Holodeck Malfunction: Episode 12 - Saliere Vs. The Fountain Of Youth

Jacob and Isaac are back with the last two Star Trek movies before the reboot - Insurrection and Nemesis. Along the way they discuss Gilbert and Sullivan, plagiarizing yourself, and why Picard can't seem to ever get some. They also talk about Tom Hardy, Dina Meyer and F. Murray Abraham as the talented guest stars in a couple of bad movies.

Holodeck Malfunction: Episode 11 - Beastie Boys, Prophets Of The Federation

This week Jacob and Isaac discuss the two best movies starring The Next Generation cast - Generations and First Contact.
Did you ever wonder who almost played Zephram Cochram, father of Warp Drive? Would Kirk ever play the flute? Will Picard ever find love? Who is truly responsible for the destruction of the Enterprise D? Was Lt. Hawk gay? Why does it sound like a juicy fart every time Jacob takes a drink from his soda? Why did the Spawn movie suck? Is there less bias in the press of the future? Is the government still a two party system? Are The Beastie Boys prophets of the Federation? Should Whoopi Goldberg have won an Academy Award?

They talk about all that and more in the latest episode of Holodeck Malfunction.

Isaac spends a little time explaining his frustration of the writers constantly miscalculating distance when it comes to warp speed. Jacob talks about whether genre fans are more accepting of Gay people than non fans?

Volume 2 Issue 19

It’s that time of the week again. Brian and Jacob are coming straight(?) at you with another issue of The Gorram Nerd Hour! This week was full of news and musings from the heterhusband duo. They start the show off with a little bit of network TV news, what’s getting cancelled, what’s coming back, and what the fuck is wrong with NBC?

Schwarzenegger made the news yet again, and it has nothing to do with illegitimate children. The American movie-going population may be the problem with all things Hollywood, but don’t think that the BBC is any better.

The last few weeks have brought a recurring theme to the show with joblo.com’s movie jail, but that may come to the end with this week’s choice. It sure had Jacob’s panties in a twist. (Brian wasn’t complaining.)

Who else and what else do they talk about? Does Jacob untwist his panties, or does he need Brian’s teeth to help? You’ll have to listen to find out.

Holodeck Malfunction: Episode 10 - Tyler Perry's Star Trek

Jacob and Isaac take a break from the norm this week to talk about what they think the new Star Trek movie will be like. Jacob professes his love for Benedict Cumberbatch (in a totally hetero way) and his love for Alice Eve (also in a totally hetero way). Isaac talks about the past and what it was like to have to hide your love of Trek in the closet. They also spend some time discussing the future if Trek without JJ Abrams, who is defecting to Star Wars, who might make a cameo appearance in the sequel, the prequel comic book from IDW and much more.

Next week they return to discuss the movies starring The Next Generation cast with an episode they call "Imzadi, The Forbidden Dance".

Volume 2 Issue 18

The boys come out of the gates swinging this week, talking about the big budget Summer Blockbusters hitting the silver screen over the next couple of months. They give you their top picks, and if you are surprised by Brian’s pick, well, you need to go back and listen to the previous ANY NUMBER OF EPISODES!

Iron Man 3 had a great opening, but it wasn’t enough to top the charts. What comes next from the Mission Impossible franchise star Tom Cruise? Is The Crow getting a reboot? And if it does, what do the boys think?

Has Michelle Rodriquez really “retired” from acting? What is wrong with Baz Lurmann? Jacob lets you know. Also here is the link for the game:
http://greatgatsbygame.com/

What is going on with http://www.joblo.com and the world of movie jail?

All of this and more on this week’s issue of The Gorram Nerd Hour.

Holodeck Malfunction: Episode 9 - Shakespeare's Plummer

Jacob and Isaac are back with the latest installment of Holodeck Malfunction, fresh from Isaac's honeymoon. This week, they discuss the Star Trek movie they both agree is the worst and then move into Isaac's personal favorite. That's right, folks. They are talking all about Star Trek V and VI. Along the way, they take a few detours and talk once again about how Jacob feels women can't play Vulcans, 23rd Century economics and sequels to popular Shakespeare plays. It's an oddly fun hour filled with all things Trek. And Jacob even sings!

Don't forget to come see the folks at Abnormal Entertainment live at Phoenix Comicon this Memorial Day weekend in beautiful downtown Phoenix, where your experience will be nearly homeless free but filled with nerds that smell homeless.

That last line was a joke, everyone. Please, no angry letters. But if you feel the need to send an angry letter, write it out by hand, as most people forgot how to write, and then we can have fun trying to figure out what it says.

Wow, I need to stop writing this before I try to stick both feet in my mouth. I'm just gonna say one more thing - Isaac wrote this! Isaac wrote this! Isaac wrote this!

Volume 2 Issue 17

The boys start off bitching about the current trend in Hollywood to deny us our iconic horror villians before going into the news for the week. It all starts with Iron Man 3 and the ridiculous numbers that it put up overseas last weekend. Jacob overuses the term “blackified” yet again, and Kevin Bacon isn’t the easiest actor to play Six Degrees with. http://www.buzzfeed.com/tessastuart/40-people-with-more-hollywood-connections-than-kevin-bacon

Jacob saw the new Rob Zombie movie The Lords Of Salem starring Sherri Moon Zombie, Meg Foster and Bruce Davison. Give it a listen to find out what he thinks.

Brian almost gives us another rant about Kickstarter, but stops himself before he goes too far.

How many franchises can one man have? Just ask JJ Abrams…

Back to the small screen again and what is wrong with entertainment today.

What would The Gorram Nerd Hour be without a little Felicia Day news? This isn’t the week to find out as Miss Day is, as always, very close to the boys' hearts.

Stay tuned after the show for Jacob’s interview with Daniel Manche, aka recording artist Daniel Graham.
